(You really should get yourself a pair of Red/Cyan eyeglasses! They cost next to nothing and you even can get free ones, if you'll rent a 3D-movie. Anaglyph 3D astronomical images are really cool to look at!)

Tulip nebula as an animated 3D

I redid this one, since there was no high resolution version of it.

An original wide field image of the "Tulip nebula".
Original Blog post (2008) and the technical details:
Animated 3D

Animations are made by creating artificial parallax to an image. Then two images are animated together by using conversion web service, Start3D. There can be some artifacts in images, due the experimental nature of this work! The volumetric models are based on some known facts and an artistic impression.

Please, let the images load for few seconds to see them animated!

Rosette nebula stereo pair(s), reprocessed

I redid this stereo image, since the older version was little too flat to my taste. Dark nebulae are also better handled this time. Generally, there is much more volume now.

EDITED 14.04.2010
Images are now organized to a "Zoom in" series, parallel vision series first and Cross vision second.

IC 1805 as a stereo pair

I found this image of IC 1805, the "Heart nebula", from my hard drive. It's originally imaged back in 2007.

Technical details:
ED80 + QHY8, guiding LX200+QHY5 UHC-filter 4h+flats+bias
Since this is imaged with an UHC-s filter, star colors are real!

The end, it's officially over today!

All my season 2009-2010 images as a slide show.

THE END
Up here, 65N, astronomical darkness is not happening after today, 08.04.2010, until late September, 05.09.2010.

Here is a collection from all of my astro images from this winter season.
Images are in chronological order, latest at last.

The season 2009 -2010 was no good for imaging. Due the bad weather, I was able to capture only 16 separate images in a whole season, even though I used every possible opportunity to image.
I feel kind of sad, as I'm forced to wait until late September to be able to do any night sky imaging again.
I'll post regularly news about my latest development work though, so stay tuned.
